Bill's Gate's 11 points of advice to youngsters...

Hello! Another post~ Wee~~~

Let's get to the point now...
I found this newspaper article (in Chinese, which I can't read...unfortunately...but good thing it has English translation!)

The article is quite old...(2006) but quality is what I want!
It's entitled...(according to my lousy Chinese to English self-translation)

Bill Gate's 11 points of advice to youngsters
Yep, Bill Gates - the richest guy on Earth and the proud owner of Microsoft.
Now...why would it be on a CHINESE newspaper...? I don't know xD

1. Life is not fair, get used to it.
A hit below the belt to those who think that life is merely for enjoying. Yeah, you need to enjoy life, but you have to know the right way to do so.

2. The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.
In other words, don't just sit there and wait for fortune to come flying towards you! You won't be considered "quality" unless you prove it.

3. You will not make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone, until you earn both.
Yep...don't dream too much. You have to walk the talk.

4. If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.
Don't think what you're suffering now is...well...suffering...at least until you grow up and face life for real.

5. Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping, they called it opportunity.
In other words, don't look down on things that may seem petty...you'll never know what it brings!

6. If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about our mistakes, learn from them.
Look at yourself in the mirror, then start to whine...and think of how to prevent that in the future.

7. Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bill, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try 'delousing' the closet in your own room.
I like this one xP...and how we're called 'parasites'. xD

8. Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades; they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.
If you think that you can just simply fail something and try again (like in school), think again. Reality doesn't give you a chance to rise above unless you can actually correct your mistakes and let go of that "Oh, I'll fail...but it's not like I can't try again" attitude.

9. Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
Basically, you need to be prepared to face life...even in situations out of your own comfort zone.

10. Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Don't just wish to enjoy ALL the time-get up and do soem work!

11. Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
Hah! Take that to all those who tease me of being a "nerd"!!!

Well, that's it...
Never thought typing could be so tiring...
I understand now, newpaper editors....X.X

Later~!
