Dear Laptop...

Dear DELL INSPIRON 6400 LAPTOP...

It's been 1++ years since I became you're owner...
and yet, you are actually 4++ years old...

Apparently, I am your second owner, as much of a frustration it is to both of us...

...I suppose your previous owner either didn't treat you too well, or used you so frequently...
...that the first day I had you, you look like....

...errr...let's just say you were not in your best condition...

And now, your whole casing is cracked, especially at the sides...
...Your touch pad no longer works...
...Your CD compartment no longer opens...(although I 'forcefully' fixed that...)
...Your battery life has decreased a lot...from the 2++ hours of last time...
...to about 30 minutes or so...

You are very, very outdated...
With only 8++ GB left from your original 40...
The previous owner 'hogged' all your space...

Sorry that you need to work so hard...so painfully...
I know it's hard to keep up with me...with only 1.66 GHz...and 1GB ram...
I'm sorry...that you have to suffer so much...

The battery is dying, dear! I don't know what else to say...!

About a month ago, I requested the Dell company in Kuala Lumpur to check the price...
...what it would take to fix your casing...battery...touch pad...

What it would take to make it better for you...

But the price...was CRAP! (sorry...sorry...)
With the kind of price offered, I could get myself ANOTHER laptop!

However...you would be sad, wouldn't you?
To be abandoned like this...

...and I've only got to use you for a little more than a year...

Therefore, although there are a number of things I am unable to do with your limited capabilities...
...I am wiling to stay as your owner...

...at least until I feel like I am ready to let you go...
...maybe...when I further my studies in a university or something.....

(or maybe once you break down into a piece of junk >.<)


...Then we shall say goodbye...

(On the bright side though...) If you happen to still somehow survive, then you may still stay in my house, but then owned by another xD

As much trouble and frustration you've given me, dear...
...I can't ever hate you!

Homer's Iliad

Sorry for (almost) neglecting this blog...

But really, I don't have the mood to blog at all...\
(I'm just not the blogging type of person)

Same goes to Facebook, MSN Chat, SMS, etc...

Anyway, since I have finally somehow pushed myself to post something...
...I shall post about Homer's Iliad!

Anybody who has studied SPM Sejarah (lol) should have at least come across the name... or it should at least seem SLIGHTLY familiar.

WARNING: IF YOU HATE HISTORY (OR HOMER LOL) THEN DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME READING THIS.

Homer, the alleged author of two of the most ancient pieces of literature in human history, Iliad and Odyssey, has somehow recorded the events in the story that apparently took place centuries before his time.

I've always been somewhat fascinated by ancient literature. (e.g. Works by Homer, Virgil, Shakespeare, etc...)

And after SPM exams, bored ol' Cynthia went around the storeroom, digging up 'relics'.
And I found a literature book - with Homer's Iliad in it!

Also, I bought another book while I was at Borders (bookstore in Australia).
Despite the exorbitant price (20 AUD = RM 60+++), I believed it was quite worth the hassle.

I bought.....Homer's Odyssey!!!

Just recently, I have finished reading the Iliad. And to be honest, it really exposed me to the cultures and beliefs of the ancient Greeks and Trojans.

Turns out things were quite different than I thought they were! I didn't know how wrong (and in some cases, right) I was about their culture!

Oh well, since Iliad was mostly about Achilles and Hector...
...and Odyssey will be (obviously) about Odysseus and Telemachus...

...I'm gonna start reading it soon!
