One week to exams!

Current condition: Slept. A lot.
Current mood: Neutral

Okay...another pre-exam update...
It's now officially one week before the exams!!!
(Actually slightly more than that, but it's already night-time lah... no need to count this night)

Some of us started revising ages ago. Some just recently. Some don't even bother.
I suppose I fall into the second category...

As what many students complain about, they fall asleep once they open the book <_<
For me, I take steps to prevent this from happenning.

Note: This works for me: I don't know about others O_o Satisfaction Unguaranteed so don't sue me.

1) Sleep A LOT
Alright, I admit. This doesn't always work. Sometimes even after you've slept a lot, you still want to sleep <_< But recently sleeping has been doing me good, though :)

2) Music + Big, comfy earphones
People say they distract your attention so you can't study. It's half true. For me, music makes the experience more interesting, instead of complete, numbing silence. But then again, the choice of music affects you too <_< Don't take super fast-paced/loud/crazy-screaming music. You'll go screaming too <_<

3) Eyes away...
..from the computer. Yup, once I turn it on, it'll be ages before I can turn it off. And don't look at me now, I'm using ANOTHER computer to type this. I'll leave soon...just let me get done with the last one...

4) Television!!!
Your stress-busting partner when you can't turn on the computer. It depends from person-to-person, really... I can tolerate the television because I don't watch it often, and turning it off isn't hard for me (compared to the computer) For those who have trouble turning off whatever technological devices, better go study on a tree <_<
By the way, yesterday's episode of Desperate Housewives and today's My Wife and Kids beat the laugh out of me...now I know why they're top-rated!

I guess that's it...better now make too long a post.
Good luck, everyone!
Gotta go take a shower now O_o...

Pre-Exam Syndrome?!

Current music: Lia - Last Regrets (OMEGA FORCE REMIX) (I've been listening to a lot of Lia recently O_o)
Current game: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody
Current mood: Very mixed up...
Current condition: Normal

Since it's been some time since my previous update, I'll just type something here...

First of all,
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, BELINDA!!!
Hope you enjoy this special day!!!

Ok, second thing xD

EXAMS ARE FINALLY COMING!!!
*plays final countdown song*
Wah...the few weeks before exams are really hectic...
Trying to get work done before exams and all that...

And we even have a Moral test tomorrow---I mean, today! Later in the morning!
(And I thought no tests allowed 2 weeks before exams <_<)

Anyway, I don't know if it's pre-exam stress/syndrome/whatever you want to call it,
but there are a few things that almost always happen (unfortunately) to me either a few days or a week before exams...

1) Fall sick.
That's right...much to my annoyance. And it's not the type of "sick" that's serious enough that you can be excused from school...you're sick, feeling crappy, but still fine enough to sit for exams =.=... and you can't really focus! Geez...

2) Get "hooked" to a specific song.
I guess that's very common, but then again...when I get "hooked" to that song, it keeps playing in my head...even when trying to answer the questions <_< again, very annoying...

3) Turn pale.
People do look a bit pale when they fall sick, but no... that's not the pale that I meant.
Sometimes people would ask me "Why do you look so depressed?" or "You look like a zombie" (or panda or some other animal with black stuff under their eyes) or something similar to that. <_<

4) One-night-stand.
Hoho, don't get the wrong idea. I just...find it hard to sleep...and when I'm actually very tired, I still can't sleep! Now it already 3++ a.m., but I just slept few hours ago <_<... style="font-style: italic;">weird sleeping patterns.

5) Go high.
Maybe it's just a way (unconsciously) to release stress, but I talk and laugh a lot in school, like currently <_<... but I myself find myself annoying xD Talking and laughing really robs all your energy...and drinking water doesn't help much...

Currently, I don't have symptoms no. 1, 2 and 3 yet... Hopefully I won't... *sigh*

Guess that's it for now, gotta complete my work.
Happy Raya Holidays in advance ^^

Later~!
*sings final countdown song*

Elysium...?

Current music: Lia - White Sky (DJ INFL_8's EXPERIENCE)
Current game: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody (Finally, a game other than Stepmania!!)
Current condition: A few hours ago I suffered (Just-woke-up-syndrome... y'know...when you can't stop yawning, tears keep coming out and you have a "flu" but you're not actually sick...)
Current mood: Not too good this morning, but fairly good now (since it's a Friday!)

Take note. This is a random post. So whatever posted here is quite random actually because I don't really have a specific topic... but I really feel like posting something, so...

To make this post less boring, especially considering that there are no pictures, I'll just make this post colourful. Well, here I come!

First of all,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS. LAT (English teacher) and Mdm. Chong Fui Ha (ICT Teacher)!!
What a nice coincidence that both teachers who are teaching me chare the same birthday!

To Ms. Lat: I didn't expect to scare you this morning, but since it turned out that way... the outcome is not too bad either, isn't it? Anyway, hope you like the little presents from 16 of us in 4E!

To Mdm. Chong: (I don't know if you'll read this, but oh well...) You are not the 'Guru Cemerlang ICT' for nothing! You're a great and dedicated teacher, and I'm happy to have you teach me ICT! (Last year you taught me Mathematics!). And hopefully I won't suffer your demerit punishment due to punctuality xD

Second thing,
The Invention Folio~
Wah...it was really 'rush hour'...
Just a few days ago, Crystal, Tung and I sat together and tried to come up with ideas...
When we couldn't figure out anything I just threw in an idea...
And that idea was actually used for the folio O_o...

Today, Mr. Loh came into our class during Moral period...
He said that as a sign of appreciation for those who passed up on Friday (today), he will give bonus marks... Woohoo~!!! Thanks, Mr. Loh! We'll definitely need them!

Third thing,
Final year exams are coming in two weeks' time!!!
Man, time DOES pass so quickly...
Two weeks' time would feel like two days!!
And it's gonna last for 15 days...
When it's a normal day, one day is like one hour...
But when it's exams, one day is like eternity...
At this rate, I'll really have to put my drawing on hiatus...
I'll draw till I drop once the exams are over...
16th Book!!! Maybe in less than 1 week, I'll reach the 17th Book!
I can't believe how much I draw O_o...

Fourth (and probably final) thing,
I've been asked many times before,
"What the does Elysium mean?!"
and also "Why do you use Elysium instead of your own name??"
I'll tell you what,
STYLE MAH...I want to use Elysium then I want lor...(imagine me saying this in a pure Manglish tone)
I mean, if Jaja can be Ms. Potato...
If Catherina can live in her dreams and be a red dove,
If Ms. Lat can enjoy the beauty of life being Latique,
If Loi Fui Teng can be Theo
(and many more examples, but you should get my point by now)
Then I can be Elysium, can't I???

Alright, for those who really don't know what Elysium means,
Just like Theophilus, Elysium comes from the Greek language.
But if I've not mistaken, Theophilus means friend of God.
As for Elysium, (or Elysian Plains) it's quite similar to heaven or eden (whichever you prefer).

So why did I choose Elysium?
I wanted to make a blog (last year) since many people were doing it and some even recommended that I start one.
Then there was this space where I should fill in the name of my blog.
I couldn't think of any name, so heck, just put Elysium saja lah...
Oh yeah, about the "odyssey" behind it, it's just for the purpose of making my blog name longer and "cooler" *wakakaka*

For those who've borrowed my pendrives before (I have 3 pendrives - 4 actually, but one is for personal use only), you'll definitely notice something.
Each of my pendrives has a name of its own - Elysium, Asphodel and Tartarus. (all Greek words)

I named my 4 GB pendrive as Elysium - and I've told you before, it's equivalent to heaven.
As for my 2 GB pendrive, it's names Asphodel - It's supposedly the 'land' between Elysium and Tartarus--or something like that...
For my 256 MB pendrive though, I just named it Tartarus - equivalent to hell... hey, the pendrive is not faulty - it works fine, but the name...just ignore it xD

And then again some might ask me, "Why so ma-fan oh??"
And again, I would answer "STYLE MAH...!"

...................................................................................................
Wah... can't believe how a "random" post become such a long one...
Anyway, I hoped the colours helped O_o...

And now I've gotta go...PLAY GAME!!!

Oh yeah, before that...
*random conversation from this morning at school*
Cynthia: Ok...so we'll give the card to Ms. Lat during recess-- (dialogue interrupted)
Olivia: *grabs me like I'm a squishie or something*
Cynthia: *tries to get away* Olivia, stop it. I need to--
Olivia: *doesn't let go, instead squeezes harder*
Cynthia: STOP IT...!

(Olivia lets go, the girls around me keeps silent...I stare at them for a while)
Cynthia: ...Whoah...I said it too harshly...I even surprised myself O_o;;;

Ok-lah, that's enough for now...

You'll Be in My Heart

Current mood: *sob**sob*

Maaaaan....really...I cannot deny this...I even have physical proof (the moist below my eyelids)

No matter how "hardcore" the songs I usually listen to are, I definitely have a soft spot for ONE specific song...

PHIL COLLIN'S 'YOU'LL BE IN MY HEART'

I find it odd, though...nothing happens when I listen to Phil's other songs, but when this comes... (and in case you're wondering, this IS the soundtrack from the Disney movie Tarzan...the movie that made me cry a bit <_<)

I also find that whenever this song plays, I start to think of many depressing things... Things that I shouldn't even bother about thinking... (and no, not "yellow" stuff...don't go there.)

Geez...something's wrong with me...
...But wait...in a way that's still good, right?

At least I still have proof that I have emotions, and therefore human...

Here are the lyrics...for anyone interested at all U_U

Come stop your crying, it will be all right
Just take my hand, hold it tight
I will protect you from all around you
I will be here don't you cry

For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm
This bond between us cant be broken
I will be here don't you cry

And you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart
Always

Why cant they understand the way we feel
They just don't trust what they cant explain
I know were different but deep inside us
Were not that different at all

And you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart
Always

Don't listen to them, cause what do they know
We need each other, to have and to hold
They'll see in time, I know

When destiny calls you, you must be strong
I may not be with you, but you gotta hold on
They'll see in time, I know

We'll show them together cuz...

You'll be in my heart
I believe, you'll be in my heart
Ill be there from this day on
Now and forever more

You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart always

Always...
I'll be with you
I'll be there for you always
Always and always
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
I'll be there always

I'm not supposed to be blogging (and moping) at this hour <_<>

Happy Hardcore!!!

Current music: ........................
Current condition: Better than yesterday
Current mood: Same as yesterday

*Sigh*.....
Sadly, I seem to be running out of music to listen to...
No, my type of music is not the contemporary type of music that many people listen to...
I don't listen to sentimental, rock, pop or rap music like my friends (I don't mind listening to them, but I wouldn't consider them as my favourite)

Instead...my tastes in music changed *dramatically*.
I used to listen to contemporary music like the others...(last time I could share a lot about music)

Then from contemporary, somehow it changed to techno. (In primary school)
At that time I could still catch up with current music and still share some facts...

In secondary school, it changed from techno to trance.
Many think like "what's the difference?" Trance has a kinda..."darker" sound...
But I still liked techno...just didn't listen to it as much as before...

After that, from trance it changed to DnB (Drum and Bass).
It's just something like techno, but has very distinct bass and as the title says, has drumrolls, drum beats and so on...

Later, from Drum and Bass it switched to gabber.
A weird name, but to sum it up (I may be wrong, but) it's a faster and darker version of techno/trance.

This year, it changed again...from gabber to happy hardcore.
It's about as fast as gabber (or maybe faster?) and ironically, has a "happier" mood than gabber or any other type of electronica.

By now, I have obviously nothing to talk about to my friends anymore. (In terms of music, movies, TV and drama, that is...)

And since many many many many (infinity) people listen to contemporary music these days, it's HARD to find any good happy hardcore tracks to listen to T_T...
Sure, there are quite a number of quality artists...but...I'm picky...

*sigh* What torture ....T_T

AJK's Farewell Dinner...

Current music: Lia - Getting Started (True Skool Mix)
Current manga: Alive - The Final Evolution
Current condition: Normal, I guess
Current mood: Slightly bored...

Last night, there was a farewell dinner for the old school prefect AJKs at Citiclub.
It was the second time I went to Citiclub (the first time was like...six years ago?)

And the irony is, I happen to be an old and new AJK at the same time <_< (same goes for Tung, Elliot and Fong Wey Heng)

Anyway, we, the new AJKs all planned to wear black as a sign that we ARE the new AJKs xD.
I reached there around 6:40 p.m. with my glasses off and my hair down O_o

Elliot: Waaai, Cynthia wear contacts!
Cynthia: I didn't wear contacts, I just took off my glasses.

Everyone thinks I wore contact lenses <_<
In fact, I don't have any contacts and I can see perfectly fine without my glasses.
Then, why do I wear my glasses anyway?

I don't know...I guess my eyesight was worse last time? Dunno-lah...
Anyway, back to the topic.

I sat between Stephanie and Fatin (the gorgeous "little Ms. Hiew")
The rest on the same table were Isadora, Crystal, Tung, Ho Yau Yuen, Marshall, Zaidin and Siti.

And at 2 o' clock direction from where I sat was a big plasma TV showing National Geographic - not a suitable channel in a cafe', no?

I tried not to pay attention and just eat my food, but unfortunately the things they show on TV seem to have killed my appetite. Crystal and I wanted to change the channel, and Ho Yau Yuen "did" it for us.

She requested to change the channel to MTV, but the waitress probably never watched MTV in her life - she changed it to HITZ.TV.
At first, we didn't mind - since it's also something like MTV...
Ne-Yo was dancing and singing his song (that I don't know what title <_<) and suddenly some bikini babes appear from nowhere (in the TV, I mean)

It's probably fine for guys, but I find it hard to swallow my food when girls and showing off their bosom and "doing it" with their man. (Of course, no specific details are shown, but still...)

Later, the guys (Wesley, Cason, Elliot and the others) went on to play snooker.
Meanwhile, the rest of us took pictures with many different poses (from the Batman pose to the Shhh! pose and so on)

Afterwards, we all gathered at our tables and listened to speeches from Carmen, Tung, Mr. Ganesan and Mr. Lee. The old AJKs then received our presents and everything was pretty much over.

I don't have any pictures here T_T but I'm gonna grab 'em from the other AJKs >_<

Guess that's it...
Gotta go watch movie later xD
My "Top 10 student" ticket's gonna expire tomorrow!!

Later~

Disappointments...

Current condition: Worn out
Current mood: Same as above

Tuesday morning, 2:30 a.m..
Putting down my paintbrush, I finally retired to bed after a night of struggling to complete my Arts work.
5:00 a.m., I reluctantly dragged myself out of bed. I got ready, ate breakfast and went to school.

I revised my Arts early in the morning because there was a test today. A test covering five chapters.

Then during the first two periods the whole class was in the Mini Theatre to watch the "Wayang Kulit" presentation. When it was my team's turn to present...

...Everything was messed up. The timing was completely off, and I barely had any lines in the drama. All I said was "That is all for our presentation"

Honestly, I felt horrible. Very unhappy with the presentation...so unhappy that I wanted to do it again...some of my teammates said they just wanted it to be over with and just forget about it...
"Your marks will be taken for the first presentation only,"
I fell silent immediately. My desire to ask was killed off. The question I wanted to ask was never asked.

Don't let that affect you so much. You still have a lot of things to get done here. Just put that aside for now. Those thoughts passed through my mind, as if to offer some kind of consolation.
Then, came the Arts test. Only four from my class took Arts.
But the moment I looked at the test questions...

...everything went blank. I couldn't answer the first question. In fact, I couldn't answer the whole paper! (50 questions)
Why? Because the questions were from completely different chapters than what I was told to read.
I immediately asked the Arts teacher but was told to finish the paper...(In other words, ignored)

I wasn't the only one. My three fellow classmates too had problems because we all revised the same chapters.

At the end of the test, I stood up and asked the teacher about the test questions.
The chapters questioned were not from the five chapters that teacher told us to revise...
I "shot" through the whole paper...otherwise, how would I have finished the paper in less than one period??

The teacher told me that she wasn't the one who set the questions.
SO...what? That's no reason for giving the wrong information!
And yet...the test was still going to be counted...!

I went back to my seat with some of my classmates looking at me. I kept a blank face, but really...I felt cheated. Ignored. Unfairly told off.

I know some people can just ignore this and don't care, but I'm not like that. Definitely not. It's a completely different thing if I didn't manage to finish my revision, but this is different! I was prepared...but was given the wrong information!
The same thing happened in the First Semester Exams!

I felt so...so...angry... Maybe I'm taking things too seriously, but this...aughhhhhh.....
I HATE THIS....!!

"I wonder if the same thing will happen during tomorrow's PHYSICS test???"

Geez...I'm tired...and hysterical...I better go rest before I do something unreasonable.

What I've learned: When the teacher says this will come out, don't believe it. READ THE WHOLE BOOK <_<

Special Birthday Celebration?!

Current music: Lia - Birthday Song And Requiem (Eupho-LIA Hardcore Remix)
Current condition: Normal
Current mood: Normal

Now this is nice--finally a more interesting post xD

---with pictures...!

On the 6th of September 2008, my family and I had a little party~
Celebrating and eating cake for someone who wasn't there...

I know it sounds odd, but I myself was surprised when I saw a huge fruit cake on the front seat of my mom's car when she picked me up from tuition.
My thoughts ranged from Yum...cake to Wait...she's not gonna send
that cake all the way to Australia, is she?

But obviously the latter wasn't the case.

Anyway, around half-past nine at night, my mom asked me to take out the cake from the fridge.

Cynthia: Hey, should we take pictures?
Mom: What for?? Just eat the cake lah.
Cynthia: Awww....c'mon-lah...special a bit mah....

Then due to my *annoying* pleading, my dad took out the camera xD

Cynthia: *opens the cake box* Hey...need to "cucuk" in the candles kah?
Dad: No need lah! It's not your birthday...

Cynthia: Aiya..."tolong-tolong" mah...(xD)

I took out the candles and started "cucuk"-ing them into the cake.
There was one big candle and nine smaller ones.
They were then lighted.

Cynthia: Hey, wanna sing birthday song first?
Mom: Sing what oh? Just blow the candles!

Cynthia: Aiyooo....*starts singing*

Geez...I guess I AM annoying xD

Here are some pictures!

That's the cake...a nice fruit cake...

Beautiful candles...really pretty...

That's me on the left and my mom on the right.
I look like I'm about to stab myself xD
And the cake looks as if it's on fire <_<>After singing the Birthday song, another scene happened xD
Cynthia: Err...who's going to blow the candles?
Mom: You blow it lah!
Cynthia: Oh...okaaay....

So I did as she said...Gosh, I feel like I'm nineteen already xD
I lost almost 3 years of my life!? (and I still can't drive U_U)

Anyways, the cake was delicious. I had the honour to cut the cake~

Finally, for the one out there...(as we are eating YOUR cake...xD)

Here you go...

Happy Birthday!!!

Biology class

Current music: Lia - Horizon (Omega Force~Updated)
Current condition: Normal
Current mood: Fine

Today, during Biology class, we dissected a frog.

Yep, frog as in FROG. The pale-green, insect-eating, jumping creature.

It was interesting actually, though I thought it was disgusting at first. I actually touched a frog <_< (finally)

Anyway, I joined Crystal, Shamin, Hareesh, Fabian and Zainul's group in our little frog-dissecting adventure.

First of all, the frog was in a huge jar. Mdm. Grace moistened some cotton wool with chloroform and put it in the jar. (The chloroform is for the purpose of making the frog faint/sleep) <--the frog is still alive, you know.

***A scene before the experiment***
Mdm. Grace: All of you need to use the scissors to cut open the frog's skin...
Brian: Using the normal scissors or the zig-zag one?
Mdm. Grace: The normal one.
Cynthia: Brian, the zig-zag scissors are for decoration-lah!

Anyway, as we started the experiment, we used pins the pin down the frog. A pin was pinned at 45 degree angle on each limb of the frog, with the stomach facing us.
(The way the frog was pinned reminded me of the way I slept (kidding) or the way a flying squirrel opens its "wings").

Then, we used forceps to pull up the skin a bit so that it is easier to cut them with scissors. The skin was first cut from the genital area to just below the mouth (poor frog).

After that, the skin was stretched out and pinned to the tray on each side (like wings, y'know?) Below the skin was a greyish under-layer. We cut that too and then we saw it. The respiratory system of the frog.

There were two cute lil lungs and a tiny heart that was still beating strongly. The frog's liver was bluish in colour.

We were asked to remove ONE lung so that was what we did xD After we "plucked" out the lung, it immediately shrunk, as if the air had gone out of it. There was an obvious difference in size between the removed lung and the one still in the frog.

Afterwards, with the help of scissors, knives and forceps, the heart was removed. (really, poor frog) Even after it was removed, the heart was still beating. This was because the heart is and organ that is myogenic (is that how you spell it?)

I asked Shamin to put the heart on the palm of my hand (and mind you, we were all wearing gloves). The feeling of having a small, beating heart on you palm was...indescribable... Some of the girls came near me and I showed them the heart. Some of the screamed and inched away.

Waaah...the feeling was like...I was dominating the world(kidding again). I experienced something new...

Although we were only required to remove the lungs and heart, we even proceeded to remove the intestines, livers and other organs.
When it was time to clean up, we put back the organs into the frog and put the corpse of the frog into a plastic container <---it's "coffin".

We payed our last respects to the frog xD.
Then, Mdm. Grave led Brian, Crystal, Tung and I to dump away the corpses...

We had to walk through the canteen. The evil Brian showed the container to every student passing by. (And they were EATING at that time xD)

We then dumped the rubbish bag outside. When we went back to the canteen...

Mdm. Grace: Ei, you don't throw away your gloves ah?! (All of us threw away our gloves, except Brian)
Brian: Ui?! *rushes outside to throw the gloves...that joined the frog)

Crystal and I walked back up to the canteen while Brian and Tung pretended to sneak away from school. Mdm. Grace voiced out a funny "EII!!!" and the two boys laughed and came back up xD

All in all, it was a great (and freaky) experience.

...I wonder if we're gonna dissect a HUMAN in the future *ponders*

Later~!
